Greetings Everyone!
I’m very pleased to share with you, for the first time, WellnessWinz’s logo! See the wonderful image below and read the story behind it.
Isn’t it great?! I love it. This design was one of 180 designs entered into a competition to win the honor of becoming Wellnesswinz’s official logo. That said, it was truly my honor to work with the talented and artistic Joanna Drobek from Poland. She currently lives in Vienna, is a proud mother, and has over ten years of graphic design industry experience. Joanna describes herself as having an innate curiosity about the world and a desire to improve upon reality via art. When asked why she decided to participate in this competition she said “I felt I had to do it.” She “had a burst of ideas and styles” when she heard about Wellnesswinz and the blog’s audience – aka YOU!
Joanna was diligent and thoughtful in her designs as she evolved closer and closer to the right logo. Interestingly, Joanna was competing with a lot of men in the contest. The biggest difference that I saw between Joanna and the male designers, outside of her talent, was her persistence (she created over 30 unique designs for me to consider) and her ability to listen to my feedback and directly respond to it. This is not to bash the male designers, it’s simply to highlight that Joanna is like many of us women – she pushes hard at work, she perseveres, she is dedicated to her passion, and she is considerate. It’s my belief that these traits, amongst others, make women truly special. Thank you, Joanna!
I chose this logo for several reasons:
- WellnessWinz is dedicated to being a blog and brand that you can trust and grow with. Blue and green are colors we find in nature. They are a bit like yin and yang – they balance one another out. Blue symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Green symbolizes life, renewal, growth, energy, and well being.
- WellnessWinz aspires to create ripple effects. The wave in the logo connects with the blog’s mission; to deliver messages to women that create ripple effects and positively impact their actions, mindsets, and decisions. The ripple effect extends into the lives of all those around us – loved ones and strangers alike.
- WellnessWinz challenges women to stay open and flexible. The arc at the top of the logo is not a closed circle for a reason. The openness reflects a desire to always stay receptive to new ways of thinking. Closed mindedness leads to frustrations and a lack of self-discovery in fitness, eating, spirituality, mental health, relationships, etc. Wellness is a process that we must stay open to. The most beautiful kind of wisdom is knowing that there will never come a time when you know everything.
I hope that you enjoy this new logo and that it speaks to you in profound or subtle ways.
Yours in health and wellness,
Maggie
